MO ABUDU TALKS ON CNN ABOUT HER PARTNERSHIP WITH SONY TO CREATE FEMALE WARRIOR SERIES ”THE DAHOMEY WARRIORS”

Mo in an interview with CNN, Mo Abudu, CEO of EbonyLife TV, spoke to Isha Sesay about her forthcoming series, The Dahomey Warriors.

She is on the list of “Africa’s Most Successful Women” named by Forbes. The Nigerian talk show host and TV producer Mosunmola Abudu is the most well-known media personality in Africa. Aside from her media career, she is managing to do her own business and organize charity events.

The announcement by EbonyLife Ltd of a collaboration with Sony Pictures Television to co-develop three new scripted TV projects comes at a significant moment in the evolution of Nollywood. EbonyLife and Sony Pictures would work on three projects while Sony Pictures would distribute them internationally. One of the projects would be a TV series inspire. She explained that six years ago the channel came across amazing stories, including one about female elephant hunters in 1645, who developed into a feared fighting force and bodyguard to the ruler of the west African kingdom of Dahomey (part of modern-day Benin).

Mo Abudu added that development of the project led to the search for a suitable global production partner, which resulted in the deal with Sony pictures television in late march stressing that The Dahomey Warriors will be the first of many stories that will come to our screens, as a result of the deal with Sony.
