30 YEAR OLD BOGOLO J KENEWENDO, BOTSWANA YOUNGEST MINISTER.

Bogolo J Kenewendo is being celebrated by many Africans as Botswana’s new Investment, Trade and Industry Minister.

Bogolo Joy Kenewendo is from Motopi village in the Boteti area; she has been an active advocate and adviser on socio economic issues and private sector development. She holds an MSC in International Economics from the University of Sussex {UK}. She also has a BA in Economics from the University of Botswana and a Certified Project Management PRINCE 2 practitioner. She had the experience of taking part in exchange programme at Pitzer College and completing the regional integration programme at Torvergata University in Rome.

Kenwendo has been working as a trade economist in the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Ghana and previously employed at e- consults Botswana as an economic consultant. The youngest Botswana cabinet minister is career goal; she is a presenter and regularly provides analysis for local and International press. Kenwendo was also a women’s empowerment advocate as she and a friend formed the Molaya Kgosi Women empowerment group following her Mandela Washington fellowship in 2011 which offered her the opportunity to meet former U.S first lady Michelle Obama. Her appointment as a Minister makes her the country’s youngest minister and one of few women to ever gain political leadership in the landlocked Southern African country.
